Jakarta's burger scene has grown quickly, led by smash-burger counters, home-grown brands that started online or in markets, and a few hotel and mall dining rooms. Prices run from roadside burger bakar to wagyu, and there are plant-based and pork-free choices too.

Highlights include Dan's Burgers and its kosher-salt Classic Smashburger, Bobby's Burgers with its Billionaire Sauce, Unicorn Burger's everyday-priced smash burgers, Le Burger's Vongerichten-designed menu at Alila SCBD, Belly Bandit's smashed burgers and all-day breakfast in Menteng, and Burgreens, the city's long-running plant-based brand.
