Munch Club

Munch Club is the casual, order-at-the-counter offshoot of Urban Wagyu, the Surabaya-born steakhouse group. The Jakarta branch sits in a corner of the ground floor at Lippo Mall Nusantara in Semanggi, a bright, simple room with pale wood furniture, a red-tiled frontage and some semi-outdoor seating.

Burgers are what people come for: soft buns and wide, flat, juicy beef patties rather than crisp smash patties. The Supreme Cheese, with cheese sauce, sliced cheese and onion marmalade, is the one the brand pushes hardest. The Creamy Munchroom adds mushroom sauce and truffle oil, the Ultimate Flip keeps things plain with mayonnaise and pickles, and the Stroganoff Beef piles on sliced beef and fried kale. Most burgers can also be had as a toastie, at around Rp63,000–68,000. Add truffle fries or cheesy beef fries, and one of the house fruit sodas.

It suits a quick, good-value lunch for office workers and shoppers around Sudirman and SCBD, and the menu also covers steak, rice bowls and pasta for anyone not in a burger mood.
