Burgreens, founded by chef Max Mandias, has been Jakarta's best-known plant-based restaurant group for a decade. The Menteng flagship is a two-storey grey space with playful murals, and the brand has since grown into a wider healthy-eating menu and meal-plan service while keeping burgers at the centre.
The Mighty Mushroom is the core patty, and the Big Max combines it with spinach-chickpea on a wholewheat bun. The Vegan Rendang Burger brings Indonesian spice, and the Mini Trio offers three small burgers with chips and salad for those who want to compare. Gluten-free buns cost a little extra. Burgers sit around Rp62,000 to Rp75,000; add sweet potato fries and an Es Kopi Abang Max made with soy milk.
A practical choice for mixed groups with vegetarian, vegan or meat-free diners. Other outlets include Darmawangsa, Pondok Indah, Mega Kuningan and Mall of Indonesia, with delivery widely available.
