Bali's burger scene is built around its tourist coast, with chef-driven craft burgers, American-style diners and late-night grills, several open until 3am or 4am and one around the clock. Australian beef, dry-aged patties and house-baked buns come up again and again.
Highlights include BB52 Burgers and The OG on a pretzel bun, BO$$MAN Burgers and its 60-day dry-aged chuck, Naked Bun's three-cheese burger with fondue at Echo Beach, Wacko Burger Cafe's 500g Massive Attack, The Butchers Club's Double Happiness and Dod's Burger, a long-running Seminyak shop cooking to order.
The guide covers two areas, Seminyak and Kerobokan, and Canggu and Pererenan. Three spots are listed at city level: 2080 Burger, serving charcoal-smoked burgers and 18-hour brisket on the road to Uluwatu; Locavore To Go in Ubud, from the Locavore NXT team; and Afterwork Grill & Chill, a laid-back grill house in Sanur.
