Menteng & Central Jakarta

Menteng and Central Jakarta mix tree-lined colonial-era streets, the big malls around Bundaran HI and older districts such as Pasar Baru and Cempaka Putih, with burgers from mall dining rooms to family-run stands.

Burger & Lobster Jakarta at Plaza Indonesia serves Mayfair and Beast burgers and lobster rolls, with DJs at weekends. Belly Bandit, a Menteng corner house that began as a burger garage in 2017, pairs smashed burgers with all-day American breakfast. Jungen Joint is a mother-and-son smash stand in Pasar Baru making only about 30 burgers a day. Burgreens on Wahid Hasyim is Jakarta's long-running plant-based burger brand, and Aldi's Burger in Cempaka Putih sells Oasis-named beef burgers from Rp24,000.

Bundaran HI MRT is the stop for Plaza Indonesia, and Transjakarta buses cover most of the area. Go early to Jungen Joint before the day's burgers run out. Street parking in Menteng is limited, so a ride-hailing car is usually easier.
