The north and west of Singapore are spread out, taking in Upper Thomson's restaurant row, the one-north business park, Jurong East and Sembawang, with burgers ranging from long-running bars to food trucks and hawker stalls.
Fatboy's The Burger Bar on Upper Thomson Road opened in 2009 and is known for build-your-own burgers, the double-patty Fat Basterd and beer on tap. Ye Olde Cow is an orange food truck near one-north MRT smashing dry-aged Australian beef, and Momo Power Burger at JTC LaunchPad serves hawker-priced smash burgers with beef minced in-house. Waffl. in Jurong East swaps buns for buttermilk waffles until after midnight, and Ordinary Burgers at Sun Plaza in Sembawang is MUIS halal-certified.
Upper Thomson, one-north, Jurong East and Sembawang MRT stations each sit close to a listed spot, so the train works well here. One-north is quietest at weekends, when office workers are away. Upper Thomson Road has limited street parking, so allow extra time on Friday and Saturday evenings.
