Smash'd

Smash'd is a neighbourhood burger bar on Catchick Street in Kennedy Town, a low-key room that has become a local regular for smash burgers. Unusually for a small burger specialist, it runs a complete drinks menu with cocktails, wine and local craft beer.

The Smash'd Cheeseburger (HK$98 single, HK$128 double) is the order for most people: thin, crisp-edged patties with plenty of beef flavour on the house's home-baked buns. Past seasonal menus have added a Triple Cheese Burger with Monterey Jack, Swiss and American cheese, a Bacon & Kimchi Burger, a Hawaii 5-0 with grilled pineapple and bacon, and the Holy Crab, a soft-shell crab burger with pickled carrot and Marie Rose sauce. There is a tidy choice of plant-based patties.

Suits a casual evening of burgers and beer after a walk along the Kennedy Town waterfront. Bacon is on the menu, so it is not halal. Delivery is available through foodpanda.
