One Fattened Calf built its name at Fusionopolis in One-north and opened a second shop at New Bahru, the converted school campus on Kim Yam Road in River Valley. The New Bahru unit is a bright room with green tiles and long shared tables, close to the playground and shops that draw families at weekends.
Everything is made in-house: 150g patties of 100% grass-fed beef with no fillers, freshly baked potato buns, and house sauces and pickles. The OFC ButterBurger (from S$16.50) is the signature, finished with butter for a rich, glossy bun, and the OFC GoldBurger is the other favourite. Add fries and a fresh lemonade.
It suits a family lunch or an early dinner around River Valley; there are no reservations and groups are seated only when everyone has arrived. The original outlet is at 1 Fusionopolis Place, #01-31 Galaxis. Halal status is not stated. Note the afternoon break between 3pm and 5pm.
