Local Area Burger trades from a roadside stall in front of the Maybank branch on Lorong Rahim Kajai 14 in TTDI, among a row of evening food trucks and kerbside tables. Tatler Asia picked it as one of the Klang Valley's top smash burgers in April 2025, noting that it sells hundreds of patties a day. You pay at the counter, take a pager and collect your burger when it buzzes.
There are only four choices: single or double, with or without onions. Patties are made in-house from Australian beef at a 70:30 meat-to-fat ratio, smashed thin on the flat-top and finished with cheese, pickles, house sauce and optional caramelised onion on a soft bun. Food blogs priced the Smash Double with Onions at RM15.50 and a plain single at RM9.20. Regulars order two.
Best as a late-night bite, since it opens from 3pm until midnight, Tuesday to Sunday. Weekend evening queues can stretch to 45 minutes, so come earlier in the afternoon. Halal status is not formally stated by the stall.
